Thank you for featuring a picture of the Cary High School Alumni Band on the front page of the Dec. 14 edition. The Alumni Band has been marching in the Cary Band Day Parade since the 50th anniversary of Band Day in 2008, but this was its first year in the Christmas Parade - an idea that was dreamed up when weather caused cancellation of the Band Day Parade this year.

The CHS Alumni Band is open to any alum of the Cary High Band. There were players in the Christmas Parade from as far back as 1963 and as recent as last spring's graduates. It was a great experience for the players, and we hope the parade goers enjoyed it also. Our intent is to continue to perform in the Band Day and Christmas parades every year. We invite all former Cary High Band members to join in the fun next year by contacting gary@ashworthdrugs.com and getting on the email list.
