Welcome return

I'd like to applaud the work of Morrisville Council Member Margaret Broadwell to resurrect the Morrisville Christmas parade in the form of the "Winterfest Parade." I'm sure most residents are not even aware that this was not a town-sponsored event.

The Town Council has not held the event for several years due to budget concerns. This year, Mrs. Broadwell formed a small committee of like-interested residents, and pursued sponsorship and various organizations who would be interested in making this event happen. And happen it did, to the delight of hundreds of Morrisville adults and children.

Thanks, Margaret! Perhaps your initiative will encourage our Council next year to support this event in the budget, especially since we've recently read that there is a projected surplus and your efforts proved that there are organizations and people out there willing to invest their time and money in such an event.
