Cary Police are investigating suspected embezzlement at the Salsarita's Fresh Cantina on Crossroads Boulevard. The restaurant reported bags containing bank deposits worth about $1,300 missing on Dec. 12. Police also are investigating missing deposits at the Great Clips salon at 2728 N.C. 55.
Crossroads Ford reported $4,000 of tires and rims stolen from a 2012 Ford F250 pickup truck. The dealer discovered the theft Dec. 14.
Cary Police Department cited and released a 39-year-old man for driving with drug paraphernalia and concealed brass knuckles. An officer stopped James Carlton Ward near the intersection of Chapel Hill and Reedy Creek roads on Thursday. Ward, of 4916 Richland Drive in Raleigh, also faces misdemeanors charges of driving with an expired registration and a fictitious license plate, and driving without being licensed.
Police are investigating a drug overdose that occurred at the Motel 6 at 1401 Buck Jones Road Thursday morning, according to police reports. The Cary Police Department won't release further details until the investigation is complete but said the overdose wasn't fatal.
The Cary Police Department is investigating an armed robbery reported to have occurred Thursday morning outside the D&S Cafeteria at 1177 Buck Jones Road. A woman said as she exited her vehicle, a 6-foot-tall man threatened her with a silver-colored handgun and took an undisclosed amount of money, according to police reports. The suspect, a black male, escaped in a silver two-door car driven by another black male, reports stated.
