UNC-CH student charged in robberiesA UNC-Chapel Hill student wanted for bank robberies in Apex and Franklin County this month was booked into the Wake County jail Tuesday night.
Local authorities charged Gordon Miller Goodwin, a 22-year-old senior at UNC-Chapel Hill, with two counts of common law robbery.Police accused Goodwin of handing a note demanding cash to a teller at a SunTrust Bank branch in Youngsville on Nov. 7. Investigators think he did the same thing at another SunTrust branch in Apex on Nov. 3.Goodwin has been in custody in New Jersey since Nov. 12, when he turned himself in to Atlantic City police.
Atlantic City authorities transported Goodwin to Raleigh on Tuesday where he was booked into the Wake County jail. He was released on Wednesday after posting a $25,000 bond, a jail spokesman reported.Student assignments From staff reports The Wake County Public School System will hold information sessions to walk parents through the process of selecting a school through the new Choice Student Assignment Plan for 2012-13. These will be offered throughout Wake County.
