Cary Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 800 High House Road, reported $500 of damage to an air-conditioning unit, the result of an attempted theft of copper from the unit on the night of Nov. 8, according to police reports.
Cary Police suspect a burglar attempted arson after taking $1,000 of computer equipment from an apartment in the 1100 block of Glendon Way. Police officers responded to a neighbor's report of smoke to find a book bag baking inside an oven. Someone had apparently entered through a window, according to police reports.
Stephen Douglass Carter, 20, of 126 Luxon Place, was arrested by Cary police on a felony charge of possession with intent to sell and distribute cocaine. The Nov. 9 arrest came after a months-long investigation, according to police reports.
Police responded to reports that five unlocked vehicles were unlawfully entered at the Chancery Village at the Park apartment complex Nov. 8.

Apex Two unsecured spools of copper wire were taken from the bed of a truck on the 1400 block of East Williams Street Oct. 25.
An unsecured trailer was entered on the 1000 block of Marco Drive Oct. 25. A generator and spools of wire were taken.
A silver 2011 Hyundai Accent was reported stolen from a business on the 800 block of East Williams Street Oct. 25. The vehicle was rented and never returned to the owner.
Police charged Bennett Raynor Burcati, 19, with possession of marijuana and possession of schedule II controlled substance Oct. 28 at 1411 Beaver Creek Commons Drive. Police made the arrest after responding to a report of possible drug use. Two other suspects were charged with lesser offenses.
Fuquay-Varina The tires and wheels were taken from a vehicle at Don Jenkin's Carolina Ford at 3217 N. Main St. between 9 p.m. Oct. 23 and 8 a.m. Oct. 24. The tires and wheels had an estimated total value of $8,113.
