Characterizing homeowner association meetings as "cat fights" (Brian Irving, Nov. 6) is unfair to those who donate their time to serve the residents of their subdivisions. At the Kildaire Farms II meeting, everyone was civil, and all who wished to speak were heard. The same politeness was evident in literature handed out during the preceding week.

Unfortunately, some residents didn't visit the website where the resolutions were posted, nor did they read the mailed information which contained the agenda, profiles of board candidates, and a proxy voter form. Because of apathy, the board had shrunk to three directors, rather than the full slate of eleven. Committee membership had fallen off, leaving important work to be done by a few individuals. Fortunately there is a rejuvenated spirit within Kildaire Farms II, and many new volunteers have stepped forward.

Despite what the writer may have experienced elsewhere, the KF-II HOA is not political. Every resident can provide input, and widespread participation is encouraged.
