MILLS PARK MIDDLE SCHOOL

The Mills Park Middle School National Junior Honor Society students raised more than $1,300 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation by participating in "Caps for a Cure" at school. Students paid $1 to wear a hat/cap to school for one day. The school will walk to raise money for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation on Saturday, Oct. 29, at the Time Warner Cable Pavilion in Raleigh.

UNCW TRIANGLE AREA ALUMNI

The UNCW Triangle Area Alumni Chapter will hold its annual fall alumni dinner at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at Prestonwood County Club in Cary. Tickets are $15. Deadline for tickets is Wednesday, Nov. 2. For information, visit www.uncw.edu/alumni/triangle.html .
