Cary will commemorate the 10th anniversary of 9/11 with a concert at 3 p.m. at the Sertoma Amphitheatre in Bond Park. The event will also pay tribute to the Sister Cities movement that was founded in 1956. The event is presented in conjunction with the Sister Cities Association and Sister Cities International.
Local performers include the Tai-Yin Choir, Flamenco Carolina, Nrityanjali Academy of Dance, the Cary Children's Concert Choir and the Cary Youth Chorale. There will also be proclamations, poetry and remarks remembering 9/11. The rain location will be in the Cary Senior Center Ballroom.

The Morrisville Fire Department will hold a Memorial Stair Climb and ceremony at 1 Copley Drive.
Firefighters will walk or climb a distance equal to 110 stories to simulate the climb within the World Trade Center towers. Each climber will carry the photograph and biographical sketch of a firefighter who was lost on 9/11.
Firefighters should check in between 7 and 8:30 a.m. Registration for each firefighter is $25. Proceeds will go directly to the National Fallen Firefighter's Foundation.
