A grand opening celebration will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday for the newly renovated Christian Church on Church Street in Morrisville.

The event is open to the public and light refreshments will be served.

Renovations on the Christian Church began in December 2009 and were completed April 2011. The primary purpose of the repair and renovation is to protect this historic asset from further deterioration. Following the project the town plans to submit an application for the structure to be listed on the National Historic Register and Historic Landmark Designation.

The facility will be used to further support cultural arts programs provided by the town; meeting space for committees as well as rental space for some private events. For more information, contact the town of Morrisville's Parks, Recreation and Cultural Resources Department at 919-463-7110 or visit www.townofmorrisville.org/index.aspx?NID=195.

If you are planning on attending the event, please RSVP to ssmith@townofmorrisville.org.
