Cary

A customer successfully used two counterfeit $100 bills to buy movie tickets at the Regal Crossroads 20 movie theater July 20. Theater staff discovered the bills after the purchase, and Cary police later called in federal investigators.

A Raleigh man told Cary police that a passenger in a passing pickup truck shot him with a BB gun as he walked along the 8800 block of Chapel Hill Road on Friday afternoon. Police have not identified any suspects.

Police charged Austin William McMillian, 32, of 1120 Berwick Valley Lane in Cary, with indecent exposure on Saturday after a woman said he exposed himself on the Crabtree Creek Greenway.

Apex

A secured utility trailer was entered on Matney Lane before 10:23 a.m. July 7. Two weed eaters, two leaf blowers and an edger were taken.

Someone attempted to forcibly enter a home on Holt Road before 9:28 p.m. July 8. Nothing was taken.

Someone attempted to forcibly enter a club house on Shepherds Vineyards Drive before 11:10 a.m. July 10. Nothing was taken.

An unsecured vehicle was entered on Whippowill Court before 5:27 p.m. July 11. A purse, diamond ring, wallet, credit cards and $300 were taken.

Seven gold rings were taken from a home on Avonlea Court before 2:07 p.m. July 11.

Fuquay-Varina

A salon on 509 Wake Chapel Road was broken into by prying open the back door between 9 p.m. July 14 and 5:55 a.m. July 15. $8 was taken.

Three commercial buildings were broken into on Wake Chapel Road by cutting phone and alarm wires and then forcibly entering the buildings between 5 p.m. July 14 and 9:08 a.m. July 15. Nothing was reported stolen.

An armed robbery occurred on Youngwood Road at about 2:12 p.m. July 17.

The suspects pulled a knife, pushed the victim to the ground and took $186 and prescription pills.

The suspects were described as two 19-year-old black males.

Holly Springs

An unsecured vehicle was entered on Stinson Avenue between 8 and 9:40 p.m. July 13. A laptop computer was taken.

A vehicle was entered by unknown means on Artic Ridge Way between 6 p.m. July 12 and 12 p.m. July 13. A GPS unit was taken.

An unoccupied home was entered on West Elm Street between 3 p.m. April 16 and 3 p.m. July 8. A stove, washing machine, clothes dryer and ceiling fan were taken.

An unsecured vehicle was entered on Arbor Forest Drive between 7:30 a.m. July 8 and 4:30 a.m. July 13. A handgun was taken, but has since been recovered.
