Cary The owners of several nearby businesses and houses reported vandalism on the morning of July 7. Police found words painted at five locations within a half mile that morning.
Police officials have not said whether they suspect the cases are linked, but all five are under investigation.
Apex A utility trailer was forcibly entered on Goodworth Drive before 10:30 a.m. May 29. Tools and racing equipment valued at more than $4,500 were taken.
Police charged Kentreal Montez McDonald, 20, with possession with intent to sell or deliver cocaine and marijuana at about 1:32 a.m. July 9 on the 600 block of Reunion Park Drive. The arrest was made after police responded to a disturbance report.
Fuquay-Varina An unsecured vehicle was entered on Devonridge Drive between 11 p.m. June 30 and 12:26 p.m. July 1. A GPS unit and a power cable for a DVD player were taken.
A hole was made in the fuel tank of a vehicle, and gasoline was siphoned on Buck Johnson Street between 10:30 p.m. July 1 and 10:59 a.m. July 6.
Someone attempted to use a counterfeit $20 bill at the Express Mart at 305 N. Main St. about 8:14 a.m. July 8.
Fraudulent checks were deposited and cash was withdrawn at Bank of America at 1335 Broad St. between 12 p.m. July 5 and 10:30 a.m. July 8.
Three unsecured vehicles were entered on E. Quailwood Drive and Fieldhaven Drive between 9 p.m. July 8 and 7:35 p.m. July 9. A camera lens, portable DVD player, $41, laptop computer and GPS unit were taken.
Holly Springs Two unsecured vehicles were entered on Shorehouse Way between 10:14 p.m. and 10:38 p.m. June 28. Nothing was taken.
An unsecured vehicle was entered on Capeside Drive between 3 p.m. June 28 and 6 a.m. June 29. A GPS unit and an in-car DVD system were taken.
A resident of Grantwood Drive reported jewelry and electronics were taken from their home between 10:10 p.m. June 28 and 10 a.m. June 29.
A resident of Yauron Court reported being the victim of identity theft between 12:29 p.m. and 3:15 p.m. June 30. The victim's personal information was used to open a utility account in another state.
