Authorities arrested Josiah Lawrence Loftis, 18, on armed robbery charges June 23.

The alleged victim told Cary police that Loftis and another person robbed him during a marijuana transaction, reports state. The victim reportedly changed his mind halfway through the purchase. Then Loftis pulled a knife and robbed the victim of his credit card, the victim told police. Loftis, of 7717 Fiesta Way in Raleigh, allegedly used the credit card to buy about $175 worth of gas and video games.

Police are looking for a driver who abandoned a car on Sorrell Street after a serious wreck. An officer arrived at the scene of the crash about 1 a.m. June 26 to find an overturned Ford Explorer, its interior speckled with blood. Claudia Anayeli Arias-Nunez, 21, claimed to be the driver, but an officer grew suspicious because she was not injured, according to police reports. Arias-Nunez, of 107 Storm Court in Cary, later admitted that she was not in the car at the time of the crash, the reports state. The officer cited her with resisting, delaying and obstructing justice. Police are still searching for the vehicle's driver.

Break-ins were reported at the following places between June 21 and Monday: the 100 block of Lochwood West Drive; the 200 block of Custer Trail; the 100 block of Woodwinds Industrial Court; the 5600 block of Dillard Drive; the 900 block of Kildaire Farm Road; and the 900 block of West Chatham Street.

Air conditioning components were taken from two businesses on West Williams Street before 8:35 a.m. June 14.

An unsecured home was entered on Town Home Drive before 9:30 a.m. June 16. A circular saw was taken.

An unsecured vehicle was entered on Beaver Creek Commons Drive before 3 a.m. June 18. A tackle box and CDs were taken.

Fuquay-Varina

A robbery occurred at East Spring Street and South Main Street at about 6 p.m. June 14. The victim was kicked and a backpack and PlayStation 3 video game system with a controller and three games were taken.

Holly Springs

The club at Twelve Oaks County Club at 2008 Green Oaks Parkway was broken into about 9 p.m. June 14. Two laptop computers, various golf equipment and clothing and snack foods were taken.
