Road closure on Kelly Road in Apex starts Monday

Kelly Road in Apex will be closed from U.S. 64 to Green Level Church Road for two weeks, beginning Monday. The contractor for the N.C. Turnpike Authority's Western Wake Freeway will install a water line and widen a 700-foot section of the road to construct ramps that will be used for future interchanges.

All Kelly Road traffic will be shifted onto these ramps later this year to access U.S. 64 while the Kelly Road Bridge over the highway is constructed.

A detour will route traffic along Green Level Church Road and U.S. 64. This will not impact Kelly Road traffic on the south side of U.S. 64. For information on the Western Wake Freeway, visit www.ncturnpike.org/projects/Triangle_Expressway.
