Cary Three acquaintances face charges of assault with a deadly weapon and damaging property after fighting Friday, police say. At about 12:05 a.m., Seth Coleman, 19, got out of his car and slashed the tires of cars in front of 418 Madison Ave., according to police reports.
From their front porch, Jackson Roger Lambright and Ryan Christopher Swinsick, both 18, saw Coleman and grabbed a baseball bat and pipe to confront him. In the ensuing fight, Coleman, who wielded a knife, sustained injuries requiring hospitalization, while Lambright received a minor cut on his arm, police say.
Police charged John William Hopkins, of 1317 Brisbane Woods Way, with impaired driving after he fled the scene of a crash, according to police reports. The reports state that someone driving a gray Mazda hopped a curb and struck a power box at 426 Brisbane Woods Way. The reports state that Hopkins fled on foot. Police found him immediately afterward at his home down the road.
Forcible-entry burglaries were reported between May 2 and Monday on the 300 block of Council Gap Court; the 900 block of Castalia Drive; the 4800 block of Nelson Road; the 5100 block of Audreystone Drive; the 200 block of Trappers Run Drive; and the 2000 block of Remington Oaks Circle. A burglary without forced entry was reported on the 200 block of Appledown Drive and the 100 block of Carpenter Book Drive.
Apex A business was broken into on Vision Drive before 11:54 a.m. April 4 by breaking a window. Nothing was taken.
Approximately sixty used tires were taken from an auto service garage on James Street before 8:30 a.m. April 5.
Holly Springs A home on Wellspring Drive was entered by unknown means between 4 p.m. April 21 and 11:30 a.m. April 22. A stove and microwave were taken.
A resident of Red Hill Road reported being the victim of identity theft between April 7 and April 8. A financial account was accessed and used to make purchases in Maryland.
A boat trailer was taken at Bass Lake Park at 900 Bass Lake Road between 5:30 p.m. March 24 and 1:56 p.m. March 27.
