The 40th Apex High School reunion will be May 14 at Montague Lake, 10301 Penny Road, Raleigh. The classes of 1972 and 1973 are invited. The event starts at 3 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m.
It includes dinner, music and mingling. Big John of 102.9's Beach Party show will be the DJ. The cost is $30 per person. Make checks payable to Sherry Dean and send to 106 Court Garden Way, Cary. (Please write your name and your spouse's name, if applicable, on the check so we can have name tags ready for pickup.) Register and pay by April 15.
The Health Occupation Students of America (HOSA) chapter participated in the 35th annual North Carolina State Leadership Conference. The club won various awards for its high membership and its high number of donors in the bloods drives organized by Holly Springs HOSA and Rex Blood Services.
Also, Sebastian Salazar and Akhil George won first place in the EMT event; Lilia Signoretti and Anaiah Toby won second place in the EMT event; Peyton Bingham won second place in pharmacology and Zachary Heavner won third place in pharmacology. Ben Kelly was elected president of district three and state officer.
Kindergarten orientation will take place 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the Media Center. Incoming students will have the chance to meet the principal, teachers and tour the school. For details, visit

The school will offer the following classes through the school system's Lifelong Learning Program: Spanish for Travel, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Wednesdays, starting today through May 4, $50.
