The 40th Apex High School reunion will be May 14 at Montague Lake, 10301 Penny Road, Raleigh. The classes of 1972 and 1973 are invited. The event starts at 3 p.m. and ends at 10 p.m. The cost is $30 per person. Make checks payable to Sherry Dean and send to 106 Court Garden Way, Cary. Register and pay by April 15.

An open house for prospective families is scheduled for the first and third Tuesday and Wednesday of each month. Grades K-6 will be held at the Raleigh Campus at 9:15 a.m. on Wednesdays and grades seven through 12 will be held at the Crossroads Campus at 9 a.m. Tuesdays.

PENNY ROAD ELEMENTARY

Third grade teacher Melissa Sreckovic was recently named Penny Road Elementary's Teacher of the Year. Sreckovic has been teaching at Penny Road for four years. Sreckovic has fostered many new initiatives at Penny Road, including an after-school tutoring program for at-risk students and an autism awareness group. She is currently planning a peer sensitivity classroom training for this spring. Sreckovic will now be entered into the Wake County's Teacher of the Year competition.
