CARY -- Cary police are asking citizens to help identify and locate a man they believe to be involved in a string of recent burglaries in eastern Cary.

Police are searching for a suspect who may have been involved in an outbreak of crime in the Nottingham Drive area over the last two weeks, including six residential burglaries and one attempted burglary.

The acts have occurred during the day when the home is unoccupied, police said. Witnesses have observed the man repeatedly ringing the doorbell and then proceeding to the back door to throw a rock or brick through the sliding glass door to gain entry, according to police.

Items targeted include gaming systems, jewelry and money.

Police said the man is believed to be in his mid-20s, from 5-foot-3- inches to 5-foot-10-inches tall, weighing 130-160 pounds with a thin build.

Anyone near the area during the time of the burglaries can call Cary police at 919-469-4324.
