CaryPolice responded recently to several reports of thefts from unlocked cars in the Alston Ridge, Trafalgar and Rockhampton subdivisions in Cary.Although the crimes occurred within a 4.5-mile radius, officers believe the incidents might be related.A homeowner on Equestrian Court in the Alston Ridge neighborhood told police someone had rummaged through his SUV in the early morning hours on July 9.Nothing was reported missing from his vehicle.Meanwhile, four vehicles were entered at homes on Trafalgar Lane and Laura Duncan Road between 8 p.m. July 8 and 7:30 a.m. July 9.The victims of those incidents reported the theft of such items as cigarettes, a pocket knife, a flashlight and several dollars in coins.Apex Eight vehicles were entered on Kelly West Drive, Happy Days Court, Montvale Court, Creek Glen Way and Chapel Valley Lane between 5:40 p.m. June 22 and 5 p.m. June 23.Six GPS units, an iPod, laptop computer, computer bag, portable DVD player, $35 case and an unknown number of CDs were taken. Two vehicles were entered on Bullfinch Lane and Scissortail Lane between 6 a.m. June 21 and 6 a.m. June 28.An iPod, loose change and an iPod FM transmitter cable were reported missing. Police charged Carl John Bush, IV, 42, of 901-130 Lufkin Road, with counterfeiting and possession of drug paraphernalia at about 7:30 p.m. June 29 at Value Place at 901 Lufkin Road.The suspect is accused of passing a counterfeit $100 bill. Two metal pipes were seized.Fuquay-Varina Police charged Bradley Scott Oakley, 27, of 15 Ellie Court, with possession of a stolen firearm at about 5:59 p.m. May 28. The suspect was pulled over for an expired registration plate when the .40 caliber handgun was discovered in the passenger area of the vehicle. A prescription for 120 Percocet pills were taken from the purse of a resident of Youngwood Road and then fraudulently filled at Kerr Drug at 2268 Wade Stephenson Road, Holly Springs, between 4:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. May 28. Someone entered an unsecured vehicle at 514 Smithwood St. between 8 p.m. May 29 and 8:02 a.m. May 30. Five dollars in cash was taken. An unsecured vehicle was entered on Hunters Ridge Road between 5 p.m. June 2 and 7:30 a.m. June 3. An iPod and credit card were taken.
