Cary

An employee of Dolphins, a convenience store on Common Hills Drive, reported to police on that someone stole a coin-operated air machine from the business.

It happened sometime between 6 p.m. June 17 and 9 a.m. June 18.

Officers said that the machine, along with its cement base, was uprooted from the property.

The thief also got away with $200 in coins contained within the machine's coin box.

A Cary man contacted police on June 26 upon discovering that someone had tried to set fire to a park bench on a town-maintained greenway.

Police said a teenager had been spotted in the area who might be linked with the incident.

Officers said that whoever tried to set the fire doused newspaper fliers in hydrogen peroxide and attempted to light them with a match.

No damage was reported to the bench.

Apex

Someone took a mortar mixer from a property on Marco Drive between 5 p.m. June 16 and 8 a.m. June 17.

A resident of Cameron Valley Court reporting being the victim of financial transaction card fraud between 12 p.m. June 11 and 1:46 p.m. June 18. Fraudulent charges totaling $2,231.20 were made using credit cards issued in the victim's name.

Someone entered a vehicle on Tiemouse Lane between 11:30 p.m. June 20 and 6:40 a.m. June 21. An iPod, driver's license, two credit cards, a wallet, three PlayStation 3 video games, a flash drive, a PlayStation 3 wireless controller and PlayStation 3 carrying case were taken.

A resident of West Beechmont Circle reported being the victim of financial transaction card fraud between 10 p.m. June 20 and 12 p.m. June 21. $348.62 was taken using the victim's account information.

Two vehicles were entered on Tiemouse Lane between 10 p.m. June 22 and 6:19 a.m. June 23. A vehicle registration card was taken.

Fuquay-Varina

Police charged Daquan Reade, 16, of 108 Park Point Way, Holly Springs, with carrying a concealed firearm, possession of marijuana with intent to sell or deliver and conducting criminal street gang activity at about 2:14 a.m. on May 27 at 120 Bay St. Marijuana, three cell phones, a steak knife and a .32 caliber revolver were seized.

A resident of McLaurin Lane reported being the victim of financial card fraud at about 12 p.m. May 20. Unauthorized charges were discovered on a credit card account.

Someone entered an unsecured vehicle at 1341 E. Broad St. between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. May 27. A purse, three credit cards, two checks and $1 cash were taken.

Transactions were made using a stolen credit card belonging to a Holly Springs resident at a gas station at 1655 N. Main St. between 2:30 p.m. and 3 p.m. May 27.

Rims and tires valued at $2,500 were taken from a truck at Anchor Auto at 2900 N. Main St. between 9 p.m. June 4 and 9:35 a.m. June 5.

Holly Springs

Someone passed a counterfeit bill to a cafeteria worker at Holly Grove Elementary School between 3 p.m. June 17 and 2 p.m. June 18. It was determined that the bill was in regular circulation and the user was unaware that it was counterfeit.

A suspect fled from a routine traffic stop, wrecked the car and then fled on foot on Old Holly Springs Apex Road at about 12:18 a.m. June 19.

Cocaine was discovered in the abandoned vehicle and a warrant has been issued for the suspect.

Police charged Ebone Grace McLeod, 24, of 412 Prince Drive, with possession of cocaine with intent to sell and deliver, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrest happened about 3:57 a.m. June 22 at 420 Price Drive.

Police were investigating a suspicious vehicle when the odor of marijuana was detected and other contraband was discovered in plain sight.
