Cary A homeowner on Seabrook Avenue contacted police upon discovering that someone had moved a phone book from his front porch to the side of his house and burned it.
The incident occurred between 6 p.m. May 18 and 9:30 a.m. May 19.
Investigators found a burned and discarded cigarette butt, which they believe was used to start the small fire beside the victim's house.
Apex A resident of Woodbriar Street reported being the victim of financial card fraud between May 19 and May 20. Three transactions worth $12,366 were processed on a credit or debit card.
Someone entered a vehicle at Lowe's Home Improvement at 1101 Beaver Creek Commons Drive between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. May 20. A GPS unit was taken.
A resident of Poets Glade Drive reported being the victim of financial card fraud between 8 a.m. and 12:51 p.m. May 21. Charges totaling $1,584.77 were made using the card.
Fuquay-Varina Someone took an iPod from an unsecured vehicle on Hickory Bark Drive between 5 p.m. April 28 and 5:35 a.m. April 29.
Someone took a laptop from an unsecured vehicle on Stobhill Lane on May 8.
An unsecured vehicle was entered on E. Maple Lane between 5:30 p.m. May 9 and 8:45 a.m. May 10. A DVD player was taken.
An unsecured vehicle was entered on Dogwood Creek Place between 8 p.m. April 29 and 4:09 p.m. May 12. A GPS unit was taken.
Holly Springs Police charged Eric Spencer Tatum, 22, of 6229 Lake Terrance Drive, Holly Springs, with possession of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia at about 11:30 p.m. May 29 on Piney Grove-Wilbon Road. The cocaine was discovered as the suspect's vehicle stopped at a driver's license checkpoint.
