APEX - Police are offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of suspects connected to recent armed robberies.

Officers said the first robbery occurred at the Kangaroo Mart store, 302 E. Williams St., at 10:35 p.m. on Thursday. The second occurred six minutes later at the Racing Mart on South Salem Street.

The stores are two-tenths of a mile apart. At least one of the suspects displayed a handgun during both incidents, investigators say.

The robberies were the latest of four recent armed robberies. On Jan. 27, two men robbed the Racing Mart on South Salem Street. Two days later, a Kangaroo store at 705 E. Williams St. was hit.

The suspects in the latest robberies are men in their 20s, between 5-foot-8-inches and 5-foot-10-inches tall and weighing about 150 pounds. One suspect was seen wearing a black knit hat. The other wore a white hat. Both men were wearing jeans and black coats.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Apex police department at 919-362-8661.
