Two support groups for area residents experiencing the loss of loved ones through death or divorce have begun. Both groups are open to the public without charge. Grief Support, directed by a professional facilitator, meets at 7 p.m. Mondays. For more information, call 919-362-7807 or e-mail

First United Methodist Church will host a parenting seminar by John Rosemond, syndicated columnist and author of three parenting books on March 20 from 10 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. The cost of the seminar is $25 per couple or $15 per individual. The seminar is open to the community. Register at

The Annual Lenten Fish Fry will take place from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and 5 to 7 p.m. on Fridays through March 26 at the Parish Center of St. Michael the Archangel Church, 804 High House Road, Cary. Adult meals include fried or baked fish, roasted potatoes, cole slaw, hush puppies, apple or cherry cobbler and choice of beverage. The cost is $6 for lunch and $8.50 at dinner.
