RALEIGH -- Led by the performance of top all-around scorer Rebekah Jackson, Lee County won the 2010 Tri-Nine Conference championship Friday night at the Raleigh School of Gymnastics, as Lady Jacket gymnasts represented three of the top five all-around scores and took top scores in the beam and floor.
"Really, the girls are wonderful gymnasts. You're just lucky when you get gymnasts this talented," said Kathy McLeod-Edwards, who coaches Lee County and has worked with many of the gymnasts since they were young.
"I'm just so proud," she added. " ... We ended up with some really talented girls who worked really hard to get here."
