Cary won the Mark Adams Classic, topping second-place St. Stephens and third-place West Lincoln in the process. Nineteen teams completed the field this year, including Apex, Fuquay-Varina and Middle Creek.

The tournament's most outstanding wrestler was Cody Stephens of St. Stephens who won a tight battle with 2-time State Champion Ben Creed of Cary. Cary, which had 315.5 team points, 99 more than second-place St. Stephens, had 11 wrestlers in the finals with four champions. The Imps' Justin Leroux (103 pounds), Cordale Risk (140), Matt Colvard (160) and Juan Macias (heavyweight).

Macias' win was the biggest upset for the champion-winning Imps, as he defeated the No. 1 ranked heavyweight in the state with a win over Kirk Lincoln of Leesville Road.
