The town of Cary will kick off the holiday season on Saturday with its annual Heart of the Holiday Celebration in downtown. The daylong event will feature a variety of activities and celebrations, including the Heart of Cary Association's Ole Time Winter Festival from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Also at 10 a.m., parents are invited to bring their children to greet a special visitor at Santa's Workshop at the Herb C. Young Community Center.

The day will end with Cary's annual tree lighting at 6 p.m., followed by a performance of "It's a Wonderful Life" by the Cary Players during the town's Holiday Radio Show.
