Apex Lions

The Apex Lions meet at 6:45 p.m. on the first and third Thursdays of the month at the C.C. Jones Building at 309 Holleman St. in Apex. For information, contact Nick Somma at 919-481-1888.

Cary Jaycees

The Cary Jaycees meets from 7 to 8 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at the Business Network Center on 649 Walnut Street in Cary. The group is providing four $500 grants for those who teach in schools that primarily serve Cary residents. The grants will help teachers in the Cary area with classroom supplies. Cary Newcomers

Cary Newcomers Club meets at 9:45 a.m. on the first Wednesday of each month at the Kirk of Kildaire Presbyterian Church at 200 High Meadow Drive in Cary, across from the Saltbox Village shopping center. Carolina Mountain Dulcimer Players

Task Force on Disability

The Cary Mayor's Task Force on Disability meets from 12 to 1 p.m. on every second Wednesday in the Page Walker Arts & History Center at 119 Ambassador Loop. The group consists of citizens from Cary and Apex who are interested in creating awareness, improving accessibility and advocating for people with disabilities. UNCW Triangle-area Alumni

The UNC-Wilmington Triangle alumni chapter meets at 6 p.m. on Thursday at Prestonwood Country Club, 300 Prestonwood Pkwy. Seahawk alumni will dine with UNCW Chancellor Rosemary DePaolo.
