The Carolina RailHawks fell 1-0 at Vancouver late Thursday night in the first game of their opening round aggregate goal series. The game's only goal came from Whitecaps' reserve Randy Edwini-Bonsu in the 77th minute.

The series will be completed on Sunday at WakeMed Soccer Park. The RailHawks must win by two goals to win the series outright. If the RailHawks win by one, the series will be decided by penalty kicks.

A tie or loss would eliminate the RailHawks from the playoffs.
